How it works

Find out how Little Wandle Code seamlessly combines phonics intervention and assessment on a single platform and is supported by fully matched resources.

Discover how Little Wandle Code works for your struggling Key Stage 3 readers by seamlessly combining phonics intervention and assessment on a single platform. Each of the Little Wandle Code phonics intervention pathways is supported by workbooks and fully decodable anthologies from Collins.

A school membership subscription to Little Wandle Code allows you to track a clear journey for every struggling Key Stage 3 reader from identification to phonics intervention and reporting on progress.

  • Start by running a whole-cohort screening assessment to identify exactly who needs support. You can use this as many times as you like.
  • Complete diagnostic assessments of identified struggling readers which will identify the right intervention pathway:
    • Start the Code
    • Grow the Code
    • Complete the Code
  • Download fully-resourced phonics interventions for direct instruction by a teacher or TA in small groups of between two and six students.
  • Complete ongoing weekly reading assessments plus summative assessments for each pathway.
  • Produce individual and cohort reports to share in school and with parents/carers.
