How it works

Discover how Little Wandle Code works in school by seamlessly combining assessments with phonics intervention and reporting to successfully support your Key Stage 3 struggling readers.

A school membership subscription to Little Wandle Code allows you to track a clear journey for every struggling Key Stage 3 reader from identification to intervention and reporting on progress.

  • Start by running a whole-cohort screening assessment to identify exactly who needs support. You can use this as many times as you like.
  • Complete diagnostic assessments of identified struggling readers which will identify the right intervention pathway:
    • Start the Code
    • Grow the Code
    • Complete the Code
  • Download fully-resourced interventions for direct instruction by a teacher or TA in small groups of between two and six students.
  • Complete ongoing weekly assessments plus summative assessments for each pathway.
  • Produce individual and cohort reports to share in school and with parents/carers.
