Collins has been publishing educational books since 1819. Today, Collins has a particular strength in supporting children as they learn to read using the award-winning Collins Big Cat. Barrington Stoke joined Collins in 2023, publishing super-readable accessible and dyslexia-friendly books for children of all ages.
Throughout the development of the programme, we have worked with academics to ensure we have engaged with existing evidence as well as contributing to ongoing research in the teaching of reading.
Prof Teresa Cremin and Dr Sarah Critten have been instrumental in shaping our ‘You as a Reader’ survey and approach to integrating reading for pleasure into the programme. Prof Kate Cain has provided us with rigorous, external guidance that has supported all aspects of the programme and assessment design.
